README
Please see http://tug.org/tex4ht for current information about TeX4ht,
including a bug tracker and mailing lists.

tex4ht is still actively maintained, and many individual files have been
updated; new versions are committed to the tex4ht and TeX Live
repositories.

Unfortunately, no full release of tex4ht has been made since Eitan
Gurari, the original author, passed away. When a release is finally made
(there is no ETA at present), it will be available here.

TeX4ht – Convert to HTML/XML

A converter from and to SGML-based formats such as (X)HTML, MathML, OpenDocument, and DocBook, providing a configurable -based authoring system for hypertext.

4ht does not parse source (so that it avoids the difficulties encountered by many other converters, arising from the irregularity of syntax). Instead, 4ht uses itself (with an extra macro package) to produce a non-standard DVI file that it can then process. This technique allows 4ht to approach the robustness characteristic of restricted-syntax systems such as hyperlatex and gellmu.

Note that CTAN no longer holds the definitive sources of the package: see the ‘Readme’ file.
