MFB Oldstyle font family
Version 2.1
October 16, 2026

MFB Oldstyle is a serif font family designed for body text. This typeface was originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton and released by American Type Founders in 1909 as Century Oldstyle. The family contains four fonts: regular, italic, bold and bold italic. All the fonts in the family have small capitals, a choice of lining or old-style figures, as well as superior and inferior figures.

A variety of Latin scripts are supported, as well as Greek (with full polytonic coverage).

The mfb-oldstyle package enables support for the OpenType versions of the fonts in engines which allow for its use, as well as Type 1 fonts for legacy engines.

The MFB Oldstyle fonts have been placed in the public domain using the CC Zero 1.0 waiver. See COPYING for details.
