LaTeXbangla – Writing Bangla and Assamese with ordinary LaTeX

LaTeXbangla makes it possible to write Bangla and Assamese documents with minimal setup and familiar LaTeX commands. Choose a Bangla font and write either language alongside English, with automatic font switching that preserves your chosen English fonts. Features:

• Automatic font switching, with bold and italic fallbacks when needed.
• Bangla and Assamese counter numbering, alphabetic list labels, and localized document headings.
• Integration with references, hyperlinks, and citations.
• Bangla and Assamese text inside equations using \text{...}, and native digits directly in mathematics, including unbraced superscripts and subscripts.
• Tested support for 25 font families.
• Independent English and math font choices.

The package supports XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX and builds on fontspec and Polyglossia.
