CTAN Update: unicode-math

Date: September 27, 2019 6:18:06 PM CEST
Will Robertson submitted an update to the unicode-math package. Version: 0.8p 2019-09-26 License: lppl1.3c Summary description: Unicode mathematics support for XeTeX and LuaTeX Announcement text:
## v0.8p (2019/09/26) * Remove dependency on `filehook` package. Just to simplify. * Remove patch code for the `colonequals` package; now if you use that package you will simply receive its standard ‘constructed’ symbols. * Load `amsmath` automatically. This is not intended to save time for the user, but to simplify the code logic. Users should continue to load `amsmath` explicitly IMO.
The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/unicode-math The package’s files themselves can be inspected at http://mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/unicode-math/
Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Petra Rübe-Pugliese

unicode-math – Unicode mathematics support for and Lua

This package provides a comprehensive implementation of unicode maths for XeLaTeX and Lua. Unicode maths requires an OpenType mathematics font, of which there are now a number available via CTAN.

While backwards compatibility is strived for, there are some differences between the legacy mathematical definitions in and amsmath, and the Unicode mathematics definitions. Care should be taken when transitioning from a legacy workflow to a Unicode-based one.
