CTAN update: tkz-elements

Datum: 3. November 2026 07:38:51 MEZ
Alain Matthes submitted an update to the tkz-elements package. Version: 6.10c 2026-11-01 License: lppl1.3c Summary description: A Lua library for drawing Euclidean geometry with TikZ or tkz-euclide Announcement text:
[2026/11/01 — version 6.10c] Added Option 3d (or 3D): \usepackage[3d]{tkz-elements} loads the 3D module (prototype), the new files tkz-elements-3d.sty and tkz_elements_3d.lua, with the macros \tkzDrawVisible, \tkzDrawHidden, \tkzFillRegion, \tkzClipRegion, \tkzFillFaces, \tkzDrawBalls. Another package can load tkz-elements-3d itself (the option 3d of tkz-graph does it): no option clash. Without the option nothing changes. tkz-elements-3d has the same version and date as tkz-elements (updated together by scripts/set-version.sh) and checks that tkz-elements is not older. 3D module: geometry of space for the classroom: named_cube (cube ABCDEFGH with the names of the textbooks), projections and distances on a line and on a plane (project, distance), intersections line/line, line/plane, plane/plane, plane/sphere, plane:patch (a rectangle of a plane, to draw it), polyhedron:section (section by a plane), polygon3:split, scene3:polygon and scene3:plain (construction lines). Documentation Overview tables (Attributes, Methods, Metamethods) at the beginning of the documentation: the links now show the table number ("see table 12" instead of "see table"), with the new macros \tkzTableRef and \tkzSecRef (thanks to quark67, GitHub issue #8). Metamethods Overview: the links pointed to the tables of methods; they now point to the tables of metamethods of point, vector, matrix and path (new label point:metamethods); occs removed (no metamethods); column heading "Metamethods". Attributes Overview: list_point pointed to a missing label; it now points to the section on its attributes. Captions: "Metamethods of the class path" and "Metamethods of the class vector" (both said "Methods of the class vector"). New document tkz-elements-3d.pdf for the 3D module (experimental), with its source doc/latex-3d/tkz-elements-3d.tex: every figure is built from the code shown above it.

Tkz-elements – A Lua library for drawing Euclidean geometry with or tkz-euclide

This package provides a library written in Lua that performs all the calculations needed to define the objects of a Euclidean geometry figure. It requires Lua: the definitions and calculations are done only in Lua.

The library is object-oriented, with classes such as point, line, circle, triangle, conic, polygons, vectors and matrices, and many methods and transformations. Once the calculations are done, the drawing is made with tkz-euclide or .

New, and still experimental: a 3D module, loaded with \usepackage[3d]{tkz-elements}. It works in the same spirit as the 2D part: points of space, solids (polyhedra, spheres, cylinders, cones, plane faces), curves and graphs are defined in Lua; a camera (orthographic, perspective or cavalier projection) projects them onto the page, and the visible and hidden parts are computed automatically. The drawing is again made with tkz-euclide. A separate document, tkz-elements-3d, describes this module.
