In February 2026, we developed a hyphenation dictionary for the Kazakh language. After completing this project, the natural next step was to provide Kazakh language support for TeX.

The package supports Kazakh with Babel under pdfLaTeX, XeLaTeX, and LuaLaTeX. It was tested with TeX Live 2025 on Linux. The Kazakh hyphenation support files have been submitted to the maintainers of the hyph-utf8 package.

The package also provides Kazakh language support for Polyglossia under XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX.

Sample documents demonstrating the use of the package are also included. A BibTeX database is provided to demonstrate compatibility with BibLaTeX.

Kazakh localization for BibLaTeX is still under development and will be completed in a future release.
