LaTeX class and configuration file for typesetting a scientific or technical report following the template and guidelines from the "Connaissance et Intelligence Articielle Distribuees" (CIAD UR 7533) research laboratory <https://www.ciad-lab.fr>  of the "Universite de Technologie Belfort Montbeliard" in France.

Built on the powerful TeX-UPmethodology <https://www.arakhne.org/latex/tex-upmethodology> suite, it provides a professional, ready-to-use structure with advanced formatting macros.

This class and configuration file could be easily extended and adapted to the style for your own institution.

utbmciad-report is part of the larger project TeX-templates <https://www.arakhne.org/latex/tex-templates>.

1. Features

- Front page: Automatically generates the title page with:
  - Title, author, submission date, reference number
  - Institutional logos
- History of changes
- Complete lists: Table of contents, list of figures, list of tables, list of definitions
- Specialised environments: Definitions, theorems, research questions, objectives, contributions
- Advanced tables & figures: Full caption support and source references
- Inline enumerations: Compact lists within paragraphs
- Customised description lists: Flexible key‑value labelling
- Bibliographies: Two separate bibliographies (general and personal, e.g. own publications)

2. Requirements

- A recent TeX distribution (TeX Live 2020 or later, MiKTeX)
- The following classes and packages (automatically installed by most distributions):
  - TeX-UPmethodology <https://www.arakhne.org/latex/tex-upmethodology>, also available on CTAN as 'upmethodology'
  - Standard LaTeX packages (e.g. babel, graphicx, geometry, tocloft, etc.)

5. Licenses

-   All LaTeX source code (everything in the src/ directory) is licensed
    under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0.
-   The university and institution logos (in the logos/ directory) are
    not free software. They are included with permission of the
    university and institution and may be redistributed unchanged, but
    may not be modified. See logos/LICENSE.logos for details.

Note on Licensing

The package contains two distinct types of material:

  1. source code (all files that are under the src/ directory and any documentation source files).
  2. University and institutions logo images (all files under the logos/ directory).

The source code is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later version. A copy of the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPLv3) is provided in the file `LICENSE.LGPLv3`.

The logo files are not licensed under the LGPLv3. They are the property of their respective university or institution and are included with permission for redistribution only as part of this complete package. They may NOT be modified, altered, or extracted and used separately without explicit written permission from the owning university or institution. The exact terms governing the logos are set forth in the file logos/LICENSE.logos. By redistributing this package, you agree to abide by those terms.
