CTAN update: footnoterange

Date: January 20, 2026 7:06:00 PM CET
Hans-Martin Münch submitted an update to the footnoterange package. Version: 1.1c 2026-01-19 License: lppl1.3c Summary description: References to ranges of footnotes Announcement text:
• Added code to the example to be compilable without hyperref. • Corrected the date of the format required by the package. • Locked the Hfootnote counter inside a \IfDocumentMetadataF (because it does not exist otherwise). Caveat, if tagging is used: - The "Go to destination..."-tag of the footnotemarks does not list the correct footnote number while going to the right place. - According to https://latex3.github.io/tagging-project/tagging-status/ "Footnote label i-j incorrectly tagged as normal text."
The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/footnoterange The package’s files themselves can be inspected at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/footnoterange/

footnoterange – References to ranges of footnotes

The package provides the environments footnoterange and footnoterange*. Multiple footnotes inside these environments are not referenced as (e.g.) “1 2 3” but as “1-3”, i.e., the range (from first to last referred footnote at that place) is given. If the hyperref package is loaded with enabled hyperfootnotes-option, then the references are hyperlinked. (References to footnotes in footnoterange* environments are never hyperlinked.)
