CTAN package update: Algorithm2e

Date: June 17, 2004 3:13:13 PM CEST
A package has been updated on tug.ctan.org and should make its way to your favorite mirror soon. Thanks again, Jim Hefferon ====================================================================== The following information was provided by the package's contributor. Name of contribution: Algorithm2e Author's name: Christophe Fiorio Location on CTAN: macros/latex/contrib/algorithm2e Summary description: Floating algorithm environment with algorithmic keywords (re)definition feature License type: lppl Announcement text given by the package's contributor: - - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Release 3.3 is a major revision which makes the package independent from float.sty and solves all known conflicts with other packages (with color package for example!). Moreoever all know bugs have been removed and also some new features added as the long awaiting auto-numbering lines option. Algorithm2e is an environment for writing algorithms. An algorithm is defined as a floating object like figures. It provides macros that allow you to create different sorts of key words, thus a set of predefined keyword is given. You can also change the typography of the keywords. The environment allows you to have vertical lines delimiting block of instructions. It defines also different sort of algorithms such as Procedure or Function allowing name of this functions to be reused in common text or other algorithms. - - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can have a look at the package at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/algorithm2e although you may get a better network connection by visiting a mirror of CTAN that is near to you; see http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/README.mirrors

algorithm2e – Floating algorithm environment with algorithmic keywords

Algorithm2e is an environment for writing algorithms. An algorithm becomes a floating object (like figure, table, etc.). The package provides macros that allow you to create different keywords, and a set of predefined key words is provided; you can change the typography of the keywords. The package allows vertical lines delimiting a block of instructions in an algorithm, and defines different sorts of algorithms such as Procedure or Function; the name of these functions may be reused in the text or in other algorithms.
