The following information was provided by our fellow contributor: Name of contribution: algorithm2e Version number: 4.01 Author's name: Christophe Fiorio Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/algorithm2e Summary description: Floating algorithm environment with algorithmic keywords (re)definition feature License type: lppl Announcement text:
This is a major release which add a lot of new features and a number of fixes. It is important to note that some commands have been renamed to have consistent naming (CamlCase syntax) and old commands are no more available. If you doesn't want to change your mind or use old latex files, you can use oldcommands option to enable old commands syntax back. Algorithm2e is an environment for writing algorithms. An algorithm is defined as a floating object like figures. It provides macros that allow you to create different sorts of key words, thus a set of predefined key word is given. You can also change the typography of the keywords. The environment allows you to have vertical lines delimiting block of instructions. It defines also different sort of algorithms such as Procedure or Function allowing name of this functions to be reused in common text or other algorithms.
This package is located at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/algorithm2e . More information is at http://tug.ctan.org/pkg/algorithm2e (if the package is new it may take a day for that information to appear). We are supported by the TeX Users Group http://www.tug.org . algorithm2e – Floating algorithm environment with algorithmic keywords

Algorithm2e is an environment for writing algorithms. An algorithm becomes a floating object (like figure, table, etc.). The package provides macros that allow you to create different keywords, and a set of predefined key words is provided; you can change the typography of the keywords. The package allows vertical lines delimiting a block of instructions in an algorithm, and defines different sorts of algorithms such as Procedure or Function; the name of these functions may be reused in the text or in other algorithms.
