symbolindex – Generate a list of symbols with different subgroups

This extension can be used regardless of the platform.

It defines a new command

\addsymbol[group]{symbol}{description}

and the list of the symbols sorted by groups and symbols can be shown with

\listofsymbols

The program makesym (source, and DOS executable provided), is used to process symbol details, for subsequent typesetting runs.

The index is generated with a \listofsymbols command.
