Bugfix: text commands such as \textquotedblleft were typeset in a Japanese font. To fix the bug, LuaTeX-ja now replaces internals of \DeclareTextSymbol, and reload tuenc.def. This causes that \TU\textrecipe (for example) becomes "\ltjalchar8478 ", not a chardef token.

luatexja – Typeset Japanese with Lua(La)TeX
The package offers support for typesetting Japanese documents with LuaTeX. Either of the Plain and LaTeX2ε formats may be used with the package.
