Valentin Dao submitted the query-astro package. Version: 0.1.0 License: lppl1.3c Summary description: Querying astronomical databases in LaTeX Announcement text:
This new, experimental package, similarly to fits-astro, offers a new way to work with astronomical data in LaTeX. It allows users to query databases directly from their document using the ADQL language. It does not depend on a particular engine or package, but it does require shell-escape to be active. The result of the query is stored in a macro, which can in turn be used anywhere in the document. This is particularly useful when typesetting tables that contain extensive data about a celestial object, which can be retrieved automatically.
This package is located at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/query-astro More information is at https://ctan.org/pkg/query-astro
Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Manfred Lotz CTAN is run entirely by volunteers and supported by TeX user groups. Please join a user group or donate to one, see https://ctan.org/lugs .

query-astro – Querying astronomical databases in

The query-astro package is an experimental package developed to allow users to query astronomical databases directly from . The query is performed by sending ADQL (Astronomical Data Query Language) instructions to a Table Access Protocol (TAP) service, so enabled \write18 is required. The result is then stored in a macro, which can be used in the document.
