CTAN update: tikzphysics

Datum: 12. Oktober 2026 17:21:28 MESZ
Vaibhav Blayer submitted an update to the tikzphysics package. Version: 1.8.0 2026-10-11 License: lppl1.3c Summary description: TikZ-native shapes and anchors for classical physics diagrams Announcement text:
tikzphysics 1.8.0 adds shared piston-cylinder closed-system diagrams with configurable gas, heat and work labels and percentage coordinates. Compact percentage-anchor storage fixes TeX memory exhaustion in project-local Overleaf runtimes. Differential dimensions use external inward ->| / |<- arrows; rotating-fluid slice arrows and configurable hatching are corrected. Thermodynamic annotations inherit document fonts. Phased-wave endpoints and projected-solid fills/patterns now follow their native geometry. Updated manual, examples, regression checks and single-file bundle generator included.

physics – -native shapes and anchors for classical physics diagrams

The package extends with reusable shapes, styles, keys, and geometric anchors for physics diagrams. It provides mechanics, contact surfaces and tracks, polar and Cartesian differential elements, solid shell and slice constructions, fluid mechanics, optical mirrors and lenses, waves, thermodynamics, and thermal physics/heat transfer apparatus. Features use ordinary node, path, and pic syntax with reusable default styles. Integer percentage anchors compose larger diagrams, and reference cards expose keys and anchors. Diagrams default to black and white and inherit native stroke widths.
