Summary description: LaTeX commands for enclosing characters in circles, squares, diamonds, or brackets
Announcement text:
New package options: `autolowercase' (on by default) routes a single lowercase ASCII letter through the lowercase-safe sizing path, and `linewidth' together with per-command keys such as `marulinewidth' sets the frame thickness of every TikZ-drawn enclosure. The safe-sizing routes now fit arbitrary material uniformly against the outline that is really drawn, so multi-character arguments such as \maru*{abc} no longer cross their frames, while single lowercase letters keep the size they had in 2.2.2. \maru{c} and friends therefore look unchanged, and \maruhishi now reaches its intended rounded diamond rather than the filled one. The documentation gains a recommended style for lowercase roman numerals -- the non-starred commands with one group-wide \kksref{\Rrnum{6}} -- and a corner-case test sheet whose figures the document measures at compile time.
The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/kksymbols The package’s files themselves can be inspected at https://mirrors.ctan.org/graphics/pgf/contrib/kksymbols/

KKsymbols – LaTeX commands for enclosing characters in circles, squares, diamonds, or brackets
This package offers LaTeX commands for enclosing characters in circles, squares, diamonds, or brackets, with automatic scaling and baseline correction to ensure correct appearance in both horizontal and vertical writing modes.
The package relies on TikZ and works only with LuaLaTeX.
