CTAN update: movie15

Date: October 14, 2005 11:48:35 AM CEST
On Thu, 13 Oct 2005, Alexander Grahn submitted an update to the movie15 package. This package defines \includemovie with PDF-1.5 compatibility. Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/movie15/ Summary description: multimedia inclusion package License type: lppl Announcement text:
1.) The image file argument of the `poster' option has become optional with this update. This new variant of the `poster' option causes the player plugin of Adobe Reader to show the very first frame of the movie or to show the frame at the beginning of a movie segment, which has been specified with the `startat' and `endat' options. 2.) A new user macro has been added: \movieref It allows embedded movies and sounds to be referenced from any location within the document. `\movieref' creates a hyperlink to either stop, pause or resume the media, or to restart it at different settings, such as frame rate, volume and start/end positions. Furthermore, clicking the hyperlink opens the page containing the media it is pointing to. 3.) Compatibility commands `\movie' and `\hyperlinkmovie' have been added such that `movie15' can be used as a replacement for Till Tantau's `multimedia' package, which is part of his Beamer-Class. The benefits are fully embeddable media files and more accepted media formats.
Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Rainer Schöpf

movie15 – Multimedia inclusion package

The package provides an interface to embed movies, sounds and 3D objects into PDF documents for use with as well as pdf.

The package defines a command \includemovie with PDF-1.5 compatibility. Option ‘autoplay’ causes the media clip to be started right after the page has loaded. This is useful for side by side movie clips to be played back synchronously.

The package is now superseded by media9
