CTAN package update: algorithms

Date: July 19, 2004 3:42:39 PM CEST
A package has been updated on tug.ctan.org and should soon make its way to your favorite mirror. Thanks again, Jim Hefferon ====================================================================== The following information was provided by the package's contributor. Name of contribution: algorithms Author's name: Peter Williams Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/algorithms Summary description: Macros for describing algorithms and a float to encapsulate them License type: lgpl Announcement text given by the package's contributor: - - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This package provides two environments, "algorithmic" and "algorithm", which are designed to be used together but may be used separately. The "algorithmic" environment provides an environment for describing algorithms and the "algorithm" environment provides a "float" wrapper for algorithms (implemented using "algorithmic" or some other method at the author's option). The reason that two environments are provided is to allow the author maximum flexibility. - - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can have a look at the package at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive//macros/latex/contrib/algorithms although you may get a better network connection by visiting a mirror of CTAN that is near to you; see http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/README.mirrors

algorithms – A suite of tools for typesetting algorithms in pseudo-code

Consists of two environments: algorithm and algorithmic. The algorithm package defines a floating algorithm environment designed to work with the algorithmic style. Within an algorithmic environment a number of commands for typesetting popular algorithmic constructs are available.
