Date: February 10, 2004 8:29:41 PM CET
A new package has been installed at tug.ctan.org and will make its way to your favorite local mirror in a day or two. Thanks again, Jim Hefferon ====================================================================== The following information was provided by the package's contributor. Name of contribution: EasyLaTeX Author's name: Bayle Shanks Location on CTAN: support/easylatex Summary description: Turns "ASCII math" into LaTeX source License type: lppl Announcement text given by the package's contributor: - - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Why is it quicker to express simple equations in plaintext than it is to write the equivalent LaTeX? EasyLatex is a preprocessor to make writing LaTeX much easier. EasyLatex accepts 'ASCII math' such as "The identity matrix is the matrix for which a_i j = 1 when i = j, and 0 everywhere else; for example, in three dimensions, I = [1 0 0 ; 0 1 0 ; 0 0 1]." and generates equivalent LaTeX source documents. - - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can have a look at the package at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/support/easylatex although you may get a better network connection by visiting a mirror of CTAN that is near to you; see http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/README.mirrors

easy – Faster and simpler writing of documents

Easy converts simple text files into documents and can also process them with .

Syntax of the source files takes ideas from wiki interfaces, and generates the commands for several constructs, in the course of processing.
