la­tex­count – Perl script to count words of doc­u­ments

The la­tex­count script gives a rea­son­ably ac­cu­rate count of the num­ber of words in the main text of an ar­ti­cle, the num­ber of words in foot­notes, and the num­ber of words to­tal. The list of tags that don't get counted can be ex­tended as needed.
