This material was designed to help (La)TeX users to print french documents
i.e. according to french typographic habits. Here are the files that require
to be found via the usual TEXINPUT path.
The french style files, as distributed by his author is composed of
other directories. This inputs directory hosts the following directories
and files:

history.pdf : list of changes in french prior the previous distribution
historyk.pdf : list of changes in keyboard prior the previous distribution
KnownBug.pdf : information about few known bugs.
***French Pro package****
enbib.ldf and
frbib.ldf : strings used by usual bibliography and french BibTeX styles
(look at the contrib directory for them).
fenglish.sty : a minimum set of things for an english like language (i.e. the
language used in LaTeX)
french.all : LaTeX code to test if all french commands are alive and
executable.
french.chk : a (La)TeX code for checking any incompatibilty
with the french style
french.cmd : a macro code introducing all French Pro command-names.
french.dmy : a (La)TeX code to run a french doc. without any french style
french.ldf : the code used by babel to load the french package (pro or le)
french.sty : THE code (may run alone but normally uses other files)
frenchle.sty : the light version of the french style
frenchpro.sty : another way to call French Pro (\usepacakge{frenchpro}
frhyphex.tex : the french hyphenation exceptions (7bit encoding)
frlicense.dat : when registered contain license numbers.
fxabbrev.tex : the french abbreviations file. This file has to be translated
to 8bit and renamed frabbrev.tex
language.dat : the configuration file for languages.
pmfrench.sty : "Poor Man French" style. Calls french.sty but run it
in a "poor-man" way (e.g. in any installation not completely
configured for French).
***frozen***
[fengl209.sty : a former version of fenglish.sty (for ltx209 & plain TeX)]

[frltx209.sty : the same code, frozen, as of 97/12/11 for LaTeX 2.09 users.]

fridx1.ist : index style for Makeindex (makeindex -s fridx1.ist)
***keyboard***
ansinew.kbc : file called for ANSINEW input encoding (windows). 8-bit file.
applemac.kbc : file called for Mac systems input encoding. 8-bit file.
ascii.kbc : the most reduced input encoding
cp850.kbc : file called for PC code-page 850 input encoding. 8-bit file.
decmulti.kbc : file called for Dec Multinational (or even ISO-Latin-1)
encoding. 8-bit file (this is the default)
latin1.kbc : file called for ISO-Latin-1 encoding. 8-bit file.
latin9.kbc : file called for ISO-Latin-9 encoding. 8-bit file.
next.kbc : file called for Next systems input encoding. 8-bit file.
frenchfc.tex : French translation file when using "fullchars" with keyboard.
kbconfig.tex : the code which is used to read & understand xxx.kbc files.
keyboard.org : the original file for the following:
keyboard.dat : the file to configure for loading the keyboard encoding
you are using, either loading one of the standard xxx.kbc
either loading your own definition file.
keyboard.sty : The package "keyboard" acting for input encoding.
keyboard.tex : The interface for Plain TeX to load the keyboard package.
***mlp (multi-lingual package)***
mlp.sty : The Multi-Lingual Package
mlp-*.sty : linguistic interface for mlp (* is the int. phone prefix)
mlp-opts.sty : a package to check and translate options for mlp.
*.mlp : options definition and translation for language "*".
***other***
epreuve.sty : write \'EPREUVE on each PostScript page.
Documentation: look for ALIRE.* in the main directory (source is in dir. doc)
