# CTAN update: nicematrix

Date: February 29, 2020 9:23:59 PM CET
François Pantigny submitted an update to the nicematrix package. Version number: 3.12 2020-02-28 License type: lppl1.3 Summary description: Improve the typesetting of mathematical matrices with TikZ Announcement text:
New command \rotate to rotate by 90° the cells of the array. Option 'vlines' to draw automatically all the vertical rules (similar to hlines). Option 'baseline' for {NiceArray}: the baseline of the whole array can be set equal to the baseline of a row of the array (given by its number). The name of the Tikz nodes created by the command \Block has changed: when the command has been issued in the cell i-j, the name of the node corresponding to that block is now 'i-j-block'. A 'medium' node may also be created for that block.
This package is located at http://mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/nicematrix More information is at http://www.ctan.org/pkg/nicematrix CTAN is run entirely by volunteers and supported by TeX user groups Please join a user group or donate to one, see https://ctan.org/lugs
Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Ina Dau --

## nicematrix – Improve the typesetting of mathematical matrices with PGF

This package provides new environments similar to the environments matrix, pmatrix, bmatrix, etc. of amsmath and mathtools.

In these new environments, a PGF node is created for each cell of the matrix.

The user can use these nodes directly but nicematrix also provides commands which use these nodes to draw continuous dotted lines from two cells of the matrix (the result is more aesthetic than the classical result obtained using \cdots, \vdots, \ddots, etc.).

This package also provides a control over the width of the columns and the possibility to add an exterior line and an exterior column.

nicematrix requires and loads amsmath, array, expl3, l3keys2e, xparse, pgf, as well as the TikZ library fit.
