CTAN Update: latexmk

Date: May 26, 2018 7:38:19 PM CEST
John Collins submitted an update to the latexmk package. Version: 4.56 2018-05-25 License: gpl2 Summary description: Fully automated LaTeX document generation Announcement text:
Correct parsing of biber's log file. Implement $warning_cmd. Deal correctly with situation that files reported in the .fls file as INPUT or OUTPUT files no longer exist at end of run. Update example latexmrc file for pythontex. Better error message when .bib file(s) not found. Better handling and diagnostics when names of expected and actual names of .log disagree. In particular, there is some automatic reconfiguration when .log file is not in expected place (e.g., because the -aux-directory option is used and the TeX engines don't support it). Fix problem of .bib files sometimes not being found by bibtex when latexmk runs under msys and -outputdirectory is specified. Add use of environment variable LATEXMKRCSYS to specify system rc file.
The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/latexmk The package’s files themselves can be inspected at http://mirror.ctan.org/support/latexmk/

latexmk – Fully automated document generation

Latexmk completely automates the process of generating a document. Given the source files for a document, latexmk issues the appropriate sequence of commands to generate a .dvi, .ps, .pdf or hardcopy version of the document.

An important feature is the “preview continuous mode”, where the script watches all of the source files (primary file and included and graphics files), and reruns , etc., whenever a source file has changed. Thus a previewer can offer a display of the document’s latest state.
