Javad Razavian submitted the persian-calendar package. Version: 0.78 2026-11-06 License: lppl1.3c Summary description: Jalali (Persian) calendar: date conversion, calendars, and a year planner Announcement text:
Persian-calendar converts dates between the Persian (Jalali, Solar Hijri) and the Gregorian calendar inside LaTeX, as text with Persian month names or as numbers, and offers Julian day numbers, the weekday of a Jalali date and the number of days between two dates. It extends the TikZ calendar library with keys for Jalali months, weeks running from Saturday to Friday, and prints calendars for whole years in the manner of calxxxx-yyyy. It also contains a two-page year planner in the manner of yplan, with week numbers (ISO 8601 adapted to the Persian week) and notes marked in the cells and listed under each page, as on a wall calendar. The conversions work with any engine; printing Persian text needs a Unicode engine and a Persian font, for example XeLaTeX with xepersian. The package comes with manuals in English and Persian and several samples.
The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/persian-calendar The package’s files themselves can be inspected at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/unicodetex/latex/persian-calendar/

Persian Calendar – Jalali (Persian) calendar: date conversion, calendars, and a year planner

This package converts dates between the Persian (Jalali, Solar Hijri) and the Gregorian calendar and prints them with Persian month names or as numbers. It also provides Julian day numbers for date arithmetic, the weekday of a Jalali date, and Persian names of the months, the weekdays and the years of the twelve-animal cycle.

For the calendar library, the package adds keys that lay out Jalali months with weeks from Saturday to Friday, and commands that print whole years in the manner of calxxxx-yyyy. A two-page year planner in the manner of yplan, with week numbers and notes, is included as well.
