CTAN update: color-edits

Datum: 7. Juli 2026 09:40:09 MESZ
David Kempe submitted an update to the color-edits package. Version: 2.0 2026-07-05 License: lppl1.3 Summary description: Colorful edits for multiple authors of a shared document Announcement text:
color-edits is a macro package to facilitate joint editing of a document (e.g., research paper) by multiple authors, annotating changes, comments, deletions, etc. with author-specific colors. Version 2.0 adds the following functionality: - "Undoing" edits (i.e., not having them visible in compiled output), either globally or for specific authors. - New added macros for deletions that avoid comments in the margins. - A package option that makes the previous deletion macros also not show comments in the margins. Bug fixes include: - fixing minor spacing issues with the suppress option/name. - fixing formatting issues when combining colorful macros with wrapfig and similar environments. - color spill issues when footnotes extended across multiple pages.
The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/color-edits The package’s files themselves can be inspected at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/color-edits/

color-edits – Colorful edits for multiple authors of a shared document

This package provides a fairly light-weight solution for annotating source code with color to show additions/changes, replacements, deletions, and comments. This is particularly useful when a document is being edited by multiple authors.

Package options allow the quick suppression of all colorful edits and comments, hiding edits by some/all authors, and showing text the deletion of which was proposed.
