Zejia Fan submitted the openglyph package. Version: 0.2.1 License: mit gpl3 other-free Summary description: Font-backed typesetting and component-based construction of historic Chinese Announcement text:
[AI-assisted text, reviewed and approved by the maintainer] OpenGlyph is a font-backed LaTeX package for historical Chinese glyphs. It provides ASCII glyph identifiers, a built-in collection of 22,583 GlyphWiki ebag_s forms, and an optional offline component-edit compiler for new forms. The compiler supports occurrence-specific edits and reusable JSON modules, preserving source programs and stable project-local PUA allocations. Typesetting uses XeLaTeX or LuaLaTeX without shell escape or online services. Researchers remain responsible for checking glyphs against their sources. This contribution includes an English manual with source, a Chinese example, the font's source data, and separate notices for MIT OpenGlyph code, permissively licensed GlyphWiki data/fonts and the GPL v3 KAGE engine. Development and documentation have been substantially AI-assisted; see AI-ASSISTANCE.md in the distribution. [End of AI-assisted text]

Openglyph – Font-backed typesetting and component-based construction of historic Chinese

The package provides named, font-backed historical Chinese glyphs for and Lua. Authors enter ASCII identifiers instead of inserting separate missing-character images. The distribution includes 22,583 GlyphWiki ebag_s forms, their source-program dependency subset, and an optional offline Python/Node component-edit compiler. New forms are built into OpenType fonts with stable project-local private-use addresses and reproducible source records. Ordinary typesetting requires neither shell escape nor a network service. This package is not an OCR system and does not establish scholarly readings or the correctness of a generated glyph.
