A (much needed) up­date to Keith Reck­dahl's "Us­ing Im­ported Graph­ics in LaTeX and pdfLaTeX" has been up­loaded to CTAN. The new ver­sion (Ver­sion 3.0) has been up­dated for pdfLaTeX, and the lat­est ver­sions of the cap­tion and sub­fig­ure pack­age's. The doc­u­ment de­scribes EPS and other graph­ics for­mats, graph­ics soft­ware, the com­mands needed to im­port graph­ics, align­ment of im­ported graph­ics, many top­ics re­lated to Fig­ure en­vi­ron­ments (in­clud­ing cus­tomiz­ing cap­tions, cre­at­ing side-by-side fig­ures and sub­fig­ures). ep­s­la­tex – Guide to us­ing En­cap­su­lated PostScript in

An ex­ten­sive doc­u­ment which ex­plains how to use im­ported graph­ics (eps, pdf, and bitmap) files in doc­u­ments. Deals with ver­sion 3.0 of the cap­tion pack­age, and with the sub­fig pack­age, as well as with most other graph­ics is­sues.
