CTAN update: sparklines

Datum: 1. Januar 2017 14:32:50 MEZ
Andreas Loeffler submitted an update to the sparklines package. Version number: 1.7 License type: lppl Summary description: Drawing sparklines: intense, simple, wordlike graphics Announcement text:
This package is used to plot the real data, sometimes sparks might be outside the rectangle (0,0) -- (1,1). This package includes the option of either plotting them OR clipping the plot. Therefore now we have two environments: sparkline and sparkline*, with the latter setting the pgf clipping path. The clipping path should be slightly larger than the (0,0) -- (1,1) rectangle to accomodate dots at the start and the end.
The package's Catalogue entry can be viewed at http://www.ctan.org/pkg/sparklines The package's files themselves can be inspected at http://mirror.ctan.org/graphics/sparklines

sparklines – Drawing sparklines: intense, simple, wordlike graphics

Sparklines are intense, simple, wordlike graphics (so named by Edward Tufte). In lieu of a more detailed introduction, Professor Tufte's site has an early release of a chapter on sparklines. A PHP implementation may be found at SourceForge.

A sparkline can be added using the sparkline environment. Also, you can add sparkling rectangles for the median and special sparkling dots in red or blue. The package requires pdf; sparklines cannot appear in a dvi file. The sparklines package uses pgf, and does not work with pictex.
