A package has been updated on tug.ctan.org and should soon make its way to your favorite mirror. Thanks for the upload, Jim Hefferon ====================================================================== The following information was provided by the package's contributor. Name of contribution: mfpic Author's name: Daniel Luecking Location on CTAN: /graphics/mfpic Summary description: Macros to generate Metafont/Metapost for drawing pictures. License type: lppl Announcement text given by the package's contributor: - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mfpic is a package of (La)TeX macros that produce drawings by writing a Metafont/post file. This is a fairly major upgrade adding facilities to create MF loops, to create picture variables and place copies of them, and to read results of an MF expression into a TeX macro. Also 7 new curve creation macros, one new curve modifier and one new rendering macro (double-line) have been added. Plus new options for \arc, \circle and \arrow. - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can have a look at the package at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/graphics/mfpic although you may get a better network connection by visiting a mirror of CTAN that is near to you; see http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/README.mirrors .

mfpic – Draw /post pictures from commands

Mfpic is a scheme for producing pictures from commands. Commands \mfpic and \endmfpic (in , the mfpic environment) enclose a group in which drawing commands may be placed.

The commands generate a Meta-language file, which may be processed by (or even ). The resulting image file will be read back in to the document to place the picture at the point where the original commands appeared. Note that the ability to use here means that the package works equally well in and pdf.
