genindex – Alternative index series

A gen­er­al­i­sa­tion of the LaTeX 2.09 \makein­dex and \makeglos­sary com­mands to al­low def­i­ni­tion of other in­dex se­ries. A more thor­ough-go­ing ap­proach to this mech­a­nism may be found in the in­dex pack­age, which has been adapted for mod­ern LaTeX.
The dis­tri­bu­tion con­tains a memo pack­age, which uses the mech­a­nism to de­fine notes on a work in progress with­out af­fect­ing its ap­pear­ance.
